The MCL-24 must be chosen for applications requiring continuous duty (the cabinet is released for extended periods of time), or for operation in outdoor environmental conditions. It is preferred for applications where operational reliability is critical (jamming is impossible with electromagnetic locking) or where the daily volume if openings is high.
The SCL-24 is preferred for applications in the most limited space as well as those which demand the highest physical security. It is also more economical to purchase, but it does not support outdoor use ore use where the cabinet will be released for extended periods of time.
